That was an interesting moment. For somebody that works in Downtown Raleigh, Happy and Hale is always a terrific choice for lunch. They somehow manage to consistently make it feel authentic. Every single person that I've interacted with at this restaurant is incredibly friendly. It tastes even better than it sounds.Outside of the delicious food, the staff is a true highlight of the restaurant. By the time I got to one, I was almost in anaphylactic shock. It bothers me on a fundamental level that you have no problem labeling foods on your menu as vegan or vegetarian or gluten free because those are the buzz terms of today, but I not once saw anything labeled as containing nuts or other food allergens. I immediately took Benadryl but I had to leave before I could notify anyone because it was quickly becoming a medical emergency and I had to get to a hospital. A moment after that I realized I was having an allergic reaction.
